ANDREA BAXTER
As a child I was very curious about everything around me and always trying to create something from any sort of materials I could find from around the house ranging from creating a doll house out of a shoe box to mastering the pillow fort. At that point in my life I had no idea what I was really doing – if anything it was more out of fun and entertainment for myself. Except now looking back I have come to understand that I was working on a form of process. Starting with an idea, running with it, developing a model, refining the model and finally, self-critiquing. In the end I was always thinking of a bigger and better way of making the initial idea even better. As a designer this is one of my favourite parts of the design process. On top of designing something that is real I get the added pleasure of designing for a client and shaping an environment that both reflects their desires and beliefs.
