MEGHAN SHEWCHUCK
Since I can remember, Art has been a passion of mine. I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, as well as partaking in performing arts such as dance. I knew I wanted to incorporate art into whatever I chose to do in life. Within my final years of High School, I had decided I wanted to do Interior Design. I decided to become a designer because I wanted to do something that both utilized my creative artistic side, but also had a technical and business oriented aspect. I enjoy having the opportunity to be able to evoke a strong emotional response from people within an interior space.
Sustainability and human well-being is an important element to my own personal morals and values, especially with design. My goal is to become a LEED Green Associate so that I may aid in creating more sustainable, healthy, and over all beautiful spaces. The health and well-being of people within the interior environment as we know has become a higher priority, and that having a healthier designed building will ultimately result in healthier human beings. I hope that someday, it becomes standard to have fully sustainable, green buildings that encourage growth in human and planetary health.
