MICHELLE LOWNDES
Hi, my name is Michelle Lowndes and I currently live in Delta BC. Born in BC, I have had the opportunity to travel my whole life and gain a variety of experiences, which have made me into the person I am today. Being a worldwide traveler has opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities the world has to offer. My love for architecture and design was ignited at a young age due to my travels. I am currently 23 and in my 3rd year of my Bachelors of Interior Design Degree.
I have a passion for the work I do, because I love it. I like the industry. I like the people I meet. I like to make the built environment a better place.
I am bilingual as I speak both English and Spanish and have a Brazilian cultural background. I have travelled around the world and have had the opportunity to live in many places such as the Dominican Republic.
I currently work for my community as a lifeguard and instructor and love what I contribute to the community. Along with this I teach advance lifesaving courses to youth and adults and encourage safety in aquatic and non-aquatic emergency environments.
I embrace the nerd. I love to read, design, draw and take photos. Above all, I am passionate on green design and creating environments that connect nature and the built environment. Connecting on an intimate level with the users and their space is my main goal, as I strive to achieve this as a designer. I love to embrace the space and use human based design strategies.
As a young designer I look forward to finishing my first degree in 2017 and hopefully further my studies into becoming an Architect. I have the passion, determination and love for this field and am excited to see where I go in the future.
